Navigating Venetian Streets

You've probably seen pictures of Venice that show the canals and the waterways (The Italian Job - why do I relate everything on this trip to a movie?) but start reading a Venice guidebook and you'll find a lot about the streets of Venice.

Let me try to summarize. They are mostly tiny and skinny.








Some don't look like they have an exit, but they do. (Look for Todd's leg in the second picture showing the exit at the end of this street.)





They barely go straight as you can see here.


Some you have to duck into.





These doors look like they are of normal height...


...until someone of normal height stands beside them.


Thankfully, the streets are pretty well labeled. This is what every tourist looks like once they get a few streets off St. Mark's Square. Look at map. Walk a few streets. Repeat.





Even the locals know its difficult and help out.


Hell, even graffiti artists help out.


But, with Todd as your navigator, you won't actually get lost in Venice. He's amazing!
