Beach. Bondi Beach.

Yesterday was FINALLY sunny so we hit the beach. We took the metro and then the bus to Coogee Beach. Coogee Beach is one of the gazillion lovely beaches in Sydney, and one of the end points of the Bondi to Coogee Beach Walk. Since we wanted to spend the afternoon lying out at Bondi, we did the walk from Coogee to Bondi.  The walk was right along the edge of the cliffs and rocks. It was breathtaking, and the vistas were amazing.

About halfway through the walk, we came upon the Sculpture by the Sea displays. Artists from all over set up huge sculptures on beaches, on the cliffs, on sidewalks and staircaseses. The exhibition technically starts this weekend, but several were set-up already, and there were cranes and artists everywhere continuing to install their works. Here are a few of my favorites.
We skipped lying out for the afternoon and wandered around downtown Sydney instead. Today, we're off to the picturesque Manly Beach area to rent bikes and tour around. We hope to last long enough to take the ferry back to Circular Quay after dusk so we can see the Opera House all lit up.
