OUSA's Art Week

I think one of the coolest things OUSA does is their annual Art Week.  This year Art Week included a student art exhibition, an art hub, art installations all over campus, and a community mural project.  My amazing colleague Kitty is in charge of Art Week, and she did an INCREDIBLE job.  Here's a link to the local TV station's story on Art Week and interview of Kitty - http://www.ch9.co.nz/content/art-university-display.

We had 10 different installations throughout the campus, from sculptures to video works to murals, and she lead a tour of them all every day at noon.

The student art exhibition displayed over 220 works by student artists.  Over 2000 visitors came through the exhibit over the 5 days it was open to the public, and we sold $2300 worth of art which all went directly back to the artists.

A local graffiti/tattoo artist created the base for a community mural outside the OUSA Student Support Centre, and even though we thought it would take 5 days, due to overwhelming interest, it only took 2 days for it to be completed!

I think POW looks like Todd, and since he's my superhero, it's a perfect purchase.  These will be great souvenirs of our trip and of Art Week!
