In NZ, Weather Doesn't Travel from West to East

So, say you live in Maryland and you'd like to know what the weather in the next few days will be.  You look west and see what's coming.  Occasionally, you look northwest to watch cold air blow in from Canada.  In the rare occasion there's a hurricane, you may look south, but most of the time, you just look west.

In New Zealand, YOU CAN'T FREAKIN' LOOK ANYWHERE!!!  The weather is coming from every side imaginable, and who knows where and who knows when, because I can guarantee the weather people do not.  You could get hot dry air from Australia, a cold breeze from...wait for it...ANTARCTICA, or who knows what from the north, the east, the northwest, whatever.

To demonstrate the uselessness of the weather forecast, we took pictures of the maps that weather people use.  Believe me when I tell you that the best way to figure out the weather is to look out the window when you wake up in the morning and guess...oh, and wear layers.
