Warming up in Omarama

With vacation time to use up, we opted to spend the night in the area instead of making it one crazy long day.  There is not a lot in this part of Mackenzie country, so our options were limited - Twizel? Back to Tekapo? And then while surfing the web, I found it - Omarama.
The best hot tubs ever
Any Kiwi actually reading this would laugh out loud at Omarama sounding like a tourist destination, but it had exactly what we were looking for after spending an afternoon on a windblown glacial lake - hot tubs.  Now don't think these are your nasty, hotel, chlorinated, average hot tubs.  These are beautiful wooden tubs, filled with fresh chemical- free mountain water for each use (used water irrigates the land) and is heated by a FIRE UNDER THE TUB!  You actually have a chimney in the water with you.
With my fancy camera, I can take amazing night shots!
This was the view from our tub.
Todd chillin' (boiling in actuality) in our tub.
Click here for the Hot Tubs Omarama website, and here's just another reason to visit Omarama (taken on our drive home the next morning):
A car pulling horses...awesomeness.
