Heading to Narnia: The Elephant Rocks

If you are even an occasional reader of this blog, you will have seen a) how beautiful every part of New Zealand is and b) why a film director would select places in New Zealand to shoot all or parts of their film.

New Zealand was featured in most recent version of The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe.  Aslan's camp was filmed in the central Otago's Waitaki Valley at the Elephant Rocks. The Elephant Rocks are these crazy huge weirdly shaped (kinda like icebergs) rocks in the middle of a paddock.  Walking amongst them, it feels like you might be a place like Narnia.  They scream "Come and climb on me!"  And we did.

See me peeking around the rock?  They are huge!

On our way out of the Waitaki Valley, we got the chance to actually catch on video something we have loved witnessing all around New Zealand - cows on parade.
