I'm sitting in our rented convertible Fiat 500 as we drive out of Brussels on our way to Spa where the Belgian Grand Prix is taking place. This starts day 2 of Todd's 40th Birthday Extravaganza.
About a year ago, I asked him what he where he would like to go for this 40th birthday (this November). He got a sly look in this eye, and said, "I have this crazy idea. The Belgian Grand Prix happens in late August and the Italian Grand Prix happens two weeks later..." and I immediately replied, "SOLD!" Todd is a big fan of Formula 1. (I think a big reason he agreed to move to New Zealand is because I promised him a trip to the Australian Grand Prix.)
So after lots of planning, here we are in Belgium! Our adventure lasts over two weeks, includes Belgium, France, and Italy, and many exciting adventures in addition to the two F1 races - woot woot!
