It was AMAZING, AMAZING, AMAZING, AMAZING!! Just look at this view from the top.
The parking lot is at the top, and then it's about a 10-15 minute walk down to the big rock cliffs. It is imperative, particularly as a tourist, to take many pictures of the rocks and the views to illustrate the beauty and how you can't believe you're still in Dunedin.
Vanessa and I at the top of the cliff, waving...if you can tell. Click on it to see a bigger picture.
From here, you can down through a tunnel to the beach and end up at the bottom of the cliffs.

Here's a picture of the whole group - from left to right: Rachel, Elena, Frances, Michael, Todd, and Vanessa
Todd and I were so having so much fun, we jumped up and down with excitement.
Todd, Elena, Vanessa, and I decided to walk around the rocks to the other half of the beach. I opted to walk through the kelp...
...which turned out to be a bad idea, because there are parts that were a bit deeper from erosion and I stepped down into those at the same time a wave came. Thankfully, Vanessa was there to rescue me when I had an itty bitty panic. Result? Camera under water, body crashed on rocks, wet up to my boobies, and gashes on my leg. Classy.
Obviously, I took a different route back...way around the kelp with Vanessa and Todd close by.
Another LB had clearly visited Tunnel Beach before and left enough marks for both of us.
After a lovely time, we headed up the hill and back home!
We will now bring everyone who visits us here in hopes they will have just as much fund as we did (sans bloody gash). Thanks, Frances!!
